A new level of Salmon Filleting: High yield, high throughput
Marel’s latest salmon filleter, the MS 2730, takes salmon filleting to a new level by increasing yields and throughput.
Capable of filleting up to 25 fish per minute, the machine provides automatic adjustment for a variety of sizes between 2 and 8 kg. MS 2730 measures the fish’s profile and size and automatically chooses the filleting program suited to its dimensions, reducing downtime for adjusting the machine. This results in higher throughput, quality and yield for both pre-rigor and post-rigor fish, depending on trim specification.
Fish are placed belly-down into the machine for fast and easy infeed. A set of circular knives cuts it from the gut to the tail, even including meat close to the centre bone in the fillets. This produces high-quality fillets with improved yield.
The machine has an operator friendly colour touch screen on which program parameters such as dimensions, tool positions, pressures for belly trim and speed can be entered and stored. This makes it easy to change the settings during production if required.
MS 2730 can be delivered as a part of a complete filleting line with manual or automatic trimming. When connected to the Marel trimming robot the machines are communicating to ensure an optimum production flow at all times.
MS 2730 will be on show in-line with an ITM trimming machine at Seafood Processing Europe in Brussels from April 24-26.
