Product Trials and Demonstrations
Marel has formed a partnership with the University of Lincoln’s major new facility at the National Centre for Food Manufacturing at Holbeach in Lincolnshire.
The National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) is a world class educational and development facility that covers every aspect of the food production process from ‘Field to Fork’.
Marel has joined a number of other leading names in the food industry as a partner at the Holbeach Centre and have installed a complete processing line within the BRC approved Food Production & Processing Area. The AEW Delford PolyLine is a complete integrated system for the automatic slicing and packing of cooked meats, bacon, cheese, boneless pork loin or beef.
The PolyLine on display comprises a Polyslicer, checkweigher, IPL Robot, thermoformer, multi-lane converger, weigh price labeller and stacker indexer – all of which can be controlled and monitored using purpose-designed Innova software.
Customer Advantage
Our presence at the NCFM provides our customers with the facility to run product trials on Marel equipment in an environment which closely resembles the customers’ factory in terms of temperature, humidity etc.
The facility offers the capability to hold and condition product to the specific temperature necessary for optimal processing.
The connection of the NCFM to the University of Lincoln also opens the potential for customers to engage directly with the University either for their own staff training needs or to use the University facilities for their own product research.
The facility is also used for as a venue for demonstrations of new equipment for our customers.
